Such is my experience as I connect more and more with the earth. I am blessed to live in a tropical climate, that allows long walks barefoot on the land. I also sit on the sand each morning and watch the waves roll in and out and the clouds shift shape.
As a child, when I was upset, I would go outside and lay on the front lawn of my home and stare at the sky. I did not realize it then, but the ground was nourishing me. I have always gone for a hike in the mountains or a walk to calm my spirit.
The easiest way to learn to meditate for me was to walk. Walking or sitting in nature is meditation. There are studies behind how nature heals now.
